What you can expect

Lake Maggiore, in the Lombardy region, is the second largest lake in Italy, and is internationally famous for its amazing landscapes, its mild climate and its small villages with beautiful gardens. The greatest attractions of this lake are, with no doubt, the gorgeous Borromean Islands: the “Isola Bella” (Beautiful Island), with Palace Borromeo, residence of the noble family, and its Italian gardens, the “Isola Madre” (Mother Island), well known for the luxuriant vegetation, the rare plants and the exotic flowers, and the “Isola dei Pescatori” (Fishermen Island), that hosts a very picturesque village. Veditalia gives you the unique opportunity to start a special day trip leaving Milan on a comfortable, safe and relaxing train. You will avoid traffic and the risk of road congestion in an ecological and sustainable way! Escorted by our experienced and friendly Tour Manager, you will experience a magnificent Lake cruise from the harbour of Laveno, at the Borromean Gulf, and you will get enchanted by the panoramic views and by the uniqueness of the stunning islands crowning the lake.
Free time, for lunch and rest, will be given during the Tour (60/90 minutes).

  • "Overall the tour was well planned with a great local guide. The group was small, about 8 people which made it really nice. The guide provided the right amount of information about the places we were traveling and left us plenty of free time. Overall, if you're debating between this one and Lake Como I would definitely go with Maggiore. Como had two really long boat rides and little time in the cities. This tour had shorter boat rides and more visits to different cities. Believe me your pic" Read all

  • "I received a royal treatment since I was the only person on this tour, the tour guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Isola Bella is out of this world, highly recommended!!!"

  • "My mother and I got extremely lucky to go on a private tour of Lake Maggiore with a great and wonderful guide. There was only another young couple with us, so it was a lot of fun with just the 5 of us! The guide had great storytelling demeanor and told us a brief history of Milan. We took the train, so that's why we met at the Caldorna train station. We took very short boat rides to Lake Maggiore and another small island I can't remember the name of at the moment, had time for a delicious lunch " Read all
